RADical Hope Partners with Baldwin Wallace University
Baldwin Wallace University and RADical Hope have partnered up for a second year to support the mental, physical and emotional health of Baldwin Wallace’s students. Eight trained peer Guides will be leading RADical Health for 34 students in their first year of a two-year Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) program.
“As a returning partner with Radical Hope for our second year, we couldn’t be more thrilled with the impact they’ve made on our community,” said Eric C. Bonilla, assistant professor of the communication sciences and disorders department at Baldwin Wallace.
“Their innovative four-week program has proven to be a game-changer for both our peer mentors and mentees. The training provided equips mentors with invaluable leadership skills while simultaneously offering mentees the practical tools and emotional support needed to navigate the challenges of transitioning into a speech pathology graduate program. The feedback from both mentors and mentees has been overwhelmingly positive, with many noting how the shared experiences and guidance have been instrumental in their success. We eagerly anticipate continuing this partnership and seeing the continued growth and resilience it fosters in our young adults.”
“We are thrilled to partner with Baldwin Wallace University for a second consecutive year to bring RADical Health to their first year students in their Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology program,” said Mackenzie Kelly, RADical Hope Program Director. “By integrating the RADical Health experience into their graduate program, Baldwin Wallace has made student mental health and well-being a priority. They are a prime example of what a true and lasting partner looks like and it has been an absolute pleasure working with them over the past two years.”
RADical Hope’s four-week program, RADical Health, was developed with behavioral health specialists, adolescent psychologists, academic leaders and input from students across the country. It was first piloted in the fall of 2020 with New York University and after several successful pilots, the organization scaled the program nationally. Today, RADical Hope works with more than 60 partners across the country and has supported tens of thousands of students.
To reduce barriers to adoption and to ensure equal access to the program, RADical Hope fully funds all costs associated with its implementation for every partner.
